dc.description.abstract After the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in September 2015, the implementation phase began at national, regional, and global levels, in which all countries have a crucial role, and their valuable support advance the world on a path to the sustainable future we want. Hungary presents its Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development for the first time in 2018. The review is a stocktaking exercise, providing a comprehensive overview of the different national policies, strategies, initiatives, and best practices which further the achievement of the SDGs within and outside the country. It also gives a broad picture of where we stand in the process of moving forward to achieve sustainable development (SD). Our country has a firm and longstanding dedication to contribute at all levels to the ambitious realization of the universal framework of the 2030 Agenda, and is committed to strengthening international cooperation to ensure its accomplishment. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development offers an inspired response to the greatest challenges of our time. The implementation of the overarching Goals of the framework to eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions, to create inclusive and resilient societies, and to ensure sustained economic growth while respecting the planetary boundaries and leaving no one behind is of utmost importance for our country in order to boost the prosperity and wellbeing of its citizens in a sustainable way, ensuring a safe and peaceful environment. When nationalizing this new, transformative vision, Hungary puts great emphasis on the most vulnerable and the furthest behind, as well as on the aim of strengthening solidarity, both at the national and global level, while remaining committed to the renewed Global Partnership to maximize international cooperation for a hunger-free world en_US
