dc.description.abstract Water is a very important natural resource, with a variety of applications domestically and industrially and is thus very essential for the survival of mankind, wildlife and vegetation. Unfortunately, only about 0.8% of the available water on the earth’s surface is usable, that is, is fresh and exists in a non-frozen nature. Kakuma exists in a semi-arid region with virtually no vegetative cover, and thus there exist very few surface water sources in the region. The objective of the research was to map out the existing water points and to identify new location for water points using spatial model.Geospatial technology employed was data collection, capturing by scanning, georeferenced, projection, and data overlay. The data collected was analysed using spatial model. The result obtained shows that there is inadequate water sources due to high increasing population in the camp en_US
