dc.description.abstract Cemetery mapping is essential in this era and should be an essential factor in monitoring, locating and keeping records. The project study is based in Nairobi County which is one of the 47 counties in Kenya. The smallest yet most populous of the counties, it’s coterminous with the city of Nairobi which is the largest city of Kenya. It covers an area of 696km2 It has a population of 3,375,000 as per 2009 census Population density of 4,800/km2 It lies within 1.2921 degrees south and 36.8219 degrees east of the globe As modern technology advances, cemeteries worldwide are relying on new software to help run day to day business operations and ensure efficiency in its functionality. Choosing the right cemetery software is beneficial to the cemetery, its employees and visitors as it helps manage everything in faster and more efficient manner. By adopting these 21st century practices, your cemetery can safe both time and money. Nairobi County being one of the county in the city is required to adopt this new methods of cemetery mapping. Nairobi is one of the 47 counties in Kenya with an are coverage of 696km2 with a population of 3,337,000 as per the 2009 census report with approximately population density of 4,800/km2 with 8 provinces hence cemetery mapping will bring about the considering the benefits which include; Quick record search, Easy navigation to gravesites, Secure records and Legislation compliance. Reported number of deaths 10 per 1000 population annually in the city creating a problem of graves and hence need to ensure proper cemetery mapping and keeping graves database also the growing need to secure long-term information database, built a much best practice and increase flexibility in all kind of burial grounds is required including day-to-day system for monitoring and administration of burial grounds with comprehensive route network connecting all city mortuaries to cemetery is essential. en_US
